Bring flowers of the fairest, Bring flowers the rarest! We celebrated the beginning of May (and the final month of the academic year) with May crowning!

May 5, 2025 - It was a busy week at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

Congrats to JPII First Communicants and Confirmandi on their recent reception of these beautiful sacraments! These students enjoyed an honorary place in Thursday’s May Crowning procession.

On the left, Girls’ Leadership this week enjoyed the fruits (and vegetables!) of their labor, admiring the flowers and harvesting the radishes they planted a few months ago! On the right, Kindergarten made May baskets to drop off at the doors of the classrooms and front office in celebration of the Month of Mary!

The 7th and 8th grade took a field trip to the Joslyn Art Museum, where they enjoyed a museum tour, a historical scavenger hunt, as well as ample opportunities for art study and sketching.

This week, we also hosted our annual Spring Arts Showcase. Below, find a link to the 5th and 6th grade’s sung performance of “John Kanaka”, an 18th century English and Polynesian Sea Shanty.

The Spring Arts Showcase highlights JPII students’ many artistic talents, refined throughout the academic year. The showcase featured various choral and poetic performances, as well as a gallery of beautiful student artwork. Students also received recognition for various achievements earned throughout the year, such as awards won in the Audubon Student Art Contest and National Latin Exam.

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
