Last Week at JPII - 02/10/25
Wonder & creativity blossoming in the Kindergarten classroom…
Feb 10, 2025 - It was a busy week at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.
This week in science class, Kindergarten learned about hypotheses! They applied their learned knowledge by growing some sunflower and broccoli seeds, and creating hypotheses based on what they thought would happen to the seeds. The consensus seemed to be that the seeds would “grow a little.”
Developing artistic skills! Kindergartners explored their creative skills making clay figurines with play-dough, while 1st and 2nd graders focused on their artwork for the annual Audubon Society Art Show.
Boys Leadership did some soap carving this week. creating cool designs with plastic knives in bars of soap. Designs included the American Flag, our school crest, and small figurines!
And to finish out the week, we had a wonderful Grandparent visit day! JPII grandparents and “grand-friends” came to visit. The day began with morning prayer and Mass in theChurch. After Mass, a brief social with muffins and coffee took place, where everyone sang the “Non Nobis Domine” and National Anthem in beautiful harmony. From there, everyone proceeded into the school building where 7th and 8th grades hosted a “History Museum on the Founding Fathers,” giving presentations on each Founding Father. Students then gave their grandparents personal tours of the school, showing them each classroom and introducing them to teachers and fellow students. We were so happy to host these special visitors!
Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
