Last Week at JPII - 03/31/25
Girls Leadership took a trip to Papio Valley Nursery! Read more about their trip below.
Mar 24 2025 - It was a busy week at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII. JPII parents Alan and Rita Weiss, owners of Papio Valley Nursery, hosted Girls Leadership for a tour of their greenhouses. The girls learned the difference between annuals and perennials and made their own “seed bombs” to plant at home.
Boys Leadership went for a hike at the OPPD Arboretum, immersing themselves in God’s beautiful creation!
JPII celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation with a school-wide rosary. Upper School Students also chanted the Ave Maria at the start of choir class that day - click the video below to listen!
Last week, the JPII Robotics club held its first meeting! Special thanks goes to JPII dad Mike Hargis for leading the meeting. Students learned some robotics basics and built small robots that they tested in an obstacle course.
Another major highlight of the week - many JPII families, faculty, and students attended a performance by the Westminster Cathedral Boy’s and Men’s Choir at St. Cecilia Cathedral. The performance was breathtaking and repertoire included works by Byrd, MacMillan, Parsons, and others. Special thanks to JPII families and friends of the JPII community who graciously opened their homes to host the choristers.
Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
