Last Week at JPII - 11/11/24

“For all the saints who from their labors rest, who Thee by faith before the world confessed!” On November 4th, Kindergarten through 4th grade had the option to dress up as their favorite saint and join in the all saints parade through the school. How many can you name?

Nov 11, 2024 - It was a busy week at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

Last Wednesday, JPII hosted Parent Experience Night for current and prospective parents. Parents and guests enjoyed a presentation from Dr. Fletcher on what sets a JPII education apart, and then had a glimpse into their children’s classrooms through an immersion Latin class from Mr. Mellender, a Socratic discussion with Mrs. Gronewold, and an Impressionist art study with hands-on chalk pastel instruction from Miss Simons. We are looking forward to the next Parent Experience Night in February!

Girl’s Leadership had a wonderful time exploring the outdoors at Schramm park. Students went on a short hike, explored the lake, and made sure to climb both the outside and inside of the fallen trees that they found. The girls were also thrilled to discover some snails that had come out to enjoy the damp weather.

Fr. Boyd, pastor at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, came and taught 7th and 8th grade a lesson on the Trinity. We are so grateful for the presence of priests and religious who visit classrooms and minister to our students.

5th and 6th grade took a science field trip to the Luminarium. Students enjoyed exploring new ideas and applying learned concepts in a hands-on way.

High school girls took the practice ACT - one step further on the road to graduation!

Kindergarten artists at work, carefully painting with vibrant watercolors, bringing their imagination to life on paper.

Lower School boys and 3rd & 4th grade teacher, Miss Hare, stop for a selfie with a locust they caught while enjoying the beautiful autumn weather.

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
