Last Week at JPII - 12/2/24

Brrr… it’s cold! Are you ready for winter?

Dec 2, 2024 - It was a busy week at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

In light of Thanksgiving on Thursday, Kindergarten read the classic story, Stone Soup. They then made their own “stone soup” from scratch. They carefully sliced carrots, broccoli, potatoes, celery, peppers, corn, roast chicken, and (of course) stones, and put all the ingredients in an Instant Pot. While their stone soup cooked, they created their own unique placemat, and, at lunch, they enjoyed a delicious feast together. The Kindergarten chefs received raving reviews from faculty who enjoyed the leftovers for their own lunch.

November is a month traditionally dedicated to praying for the souls of the faithful departed. In keeping with this theme, lower school students took a trip to a local cemetery to clean headstones and pray for the souls of those departed for the last week of November classes.

The Kindergarteners weren’t the only ones who enjoyed a delicious feast this week. The Upper School enjoyed their own Friendsgivings on Tuesday in anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
